May be buying a car from a friend (clio 1999 1.2 3door), they said it will be between £900 and £1200

What do i need to know about it

i think

-Owners
-Miles
-Last MOT

dont know what else i need to know lol

why do you want to buy a french car?

is the insurance going to be in budget?

is it due for any work soon?

how has he looked after it?

to be totally honest tho, i had a similar vintage clio, 1.2 8v with 90k miles on it, it was a lovely car. i recommend it if its a good example

my friend (female) is getting hte car from her grandad so i dont think its going to have been raced around at 90mph lol.
Shes going to sell it because she cant drive, and when she has passed her test she wont be able run a car

a grandad or a female driver can be just as awful as a cap wearing chav. short journeys, clutching being dragged, wheels/suspension damaged due to kurbing

you just need to have a look at it and hence need a fair bit of car knowledge and confidence

my old golf is 11 years old and has more than 147k miles. its a belter and its a stunner (at the same time lol) because i chose it carefully.

No, just left on the drive for long periods of time without being serviced or ever having its oil checked.

Think I'd rather take my chances with Barrys..
