Only asking some people dont kno anything about crossfire at all

yeh you have to have one crossfire mobo one crossfire master card one normal card (what you have) then it wil work

cant he get away without having a master card with one of the newest crossfire boards from asus I.E A8R32-MVP Deluxe Crossfire

I couldnt tell you to be exact because i have sli bt i thought u have to have a ,aster card because it had that extra chip on it

Needs the CAT 6.5's as well which are released beginning of May, those coupled with a new RD580 chipset board like the Asus as said, do not require the use of master cards, but im not sure if the x8 series still require one, as i know the x1300/1600 don't require one anyway, and with the release of these RD580 boards, and the CAT 6.5's the x1800's won't require master cards either, but all those are the x1k series, so as said not sure about the earlier x800 series. :)

As said, at present if you have an X800 GTO; it would be slave card.
If you have a crossfire mobo you will need to get an X850XT master card (never seen an X800 mastercard).

However if you have an RD580 crossfire mobo (also called Xpress 3200), it is possible that with the release of the new 6.5 drivers you will be able to simply get a 2nd X800GTO to go dual cards - but that has not been confirmed. If you can wait for a couple of months, untill their release, hang on & then you will know for sure.

BTW - The Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe is an availble RD580 mobo.
