Just been activated:

DSL Type: G.992.5 annex A

Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 18.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 13.5 / 27.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.5 / 7.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / BDCM
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 1,884
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 82 / 0

Does the sync speed look about right to you guys?

I am on O2 Premium(up to 20mb)...

those stats look very good , as mention you should ask for a 3db profile and see how the line copes with that.

Will give that a go then.

is there anything specific I have to say to get it switched to the 3db profile? Will they know what I'm talking about straight away?

Thanks

Got it changed:

All lines are different, depends on copper, alu thinkness of cable how many times it terminates etc, 16mb is fine IMO.

side note, give your router a reboot to give some clean stats, its showing up loss of framing etc due to o2 messing earlyer.

Monitor it for a few days now and see how it goes , if you start getting resyncs or disconnections you may have to change it back to 6db

Ooh, this is a well timed thread, I've just moved to O2 as well, it went live yesterday...spent all day downloading about 30GB worth of Steam Christmas purchases :D

Would someone mind looking at my stats if I post them when I get home tonight to see if I can get some more squeezed out of the line.

Currently I'm on about 10.2Mbit (downloads from Steam at 1.2MB/s).

Thanks :)

You will need to give it a few days to settle in. I think its like 5 days. Then see what your getting.

OK will do, can you tell me where abouts in the router settings I can find all those stats?

I'm using an O2 wireless box II, I've been hunting round the router settings and I can't find the info anywhere.

Switched to O2 about a month ago myself :) , all seems pretty good so far. Would you reckon it's worth asking them to change me to the 3db profile with my stats? Apologies for jumping on this one as well.

Can anyone suggest anything to get my speed up a bit? Is there anything I can get o2 to do to the line? I'm on the 20mb package, btw.

Try the 3dB profile (ask for it by name on their support line, they can change it while you wait). If it's too unstable then you'll have to go back to 6dB, but you should be OK and end up on the better side of 10Mb.
