what do yo find most annoying when building your computer?

Another vote for the cpu cooler here, remember installing the cooler for my E6600, then starting everything up only to get around 70+ degrees on the cpu!
So I spend another 30mins trying to fit the cooler again, but i'm scared that i'm pressing too hard and so I have to get a mate to do if for me :p
Also cable management used to be annoying for me, but since I got my V1000 case, it all just resolves itself really.
I mean, it is SO logic to place the PSU at the bottom!
XP install was annoying as well, but I experienced the vista install to be much smoother and fast, no annoying RAID drivers to install etc. was up and gaming within an hour :D

Last build it had to be connecting my Tagan PSU to a BFG 680i Mobo, in an Antec P180 case. Absolute nightmare, courtesy of my 8800GTS and Tuniq Tower taking up a mountain of room. Ended up buying an extension cable because it wouldn't fit.

The front connections - definitely need to think about an Optiviser next time.

LGA 775 socket HSF - thought 478 was tricky but a real struggle to get the pins through. Still not convinced it's 100% secure but temps seem to indicate it's doing the job so will leave alone.

Was pleasantly surprised to POST on the first attempt.

XP had a bit of a tussle with the Gigabyte S3 drivers to the point where I had to repair XP to get it working. However despite reading many articles to the contrary, didn't need the F6 floppy disc for my XP SP1 disc to install straight away.

when the PC switches on but you get no display :(

Yep had this oh soo many times.... i find walking away from it for an hour gives me a clear head and i fix it quicker.

And of course cheap no name parts are a b**tard to work with, configure and install. Cheap cases are the worst....

A few things:
Having to take off the original HSF bracket and fitting the new coolers bracket.
Trying to organise an airflow through all the cables.
Some times a graphics card not fitting cause some idiot thought it would be a good idea to put the northbridge fan just behind the slot.
Finding out the board doesnt like the ram you bought.
When swapping cpu finding the chip has stuf firmly to the Heatsink so that it comes out when you pull the HS off.
When changing a psu you sometimes find it just wont come out without pulling out the motherboard first.

I'm sure theres more but i cant really think of them right now.

Ah yeah on some of the enthusiast coolers clipping the brackets onto the backplate of the board can be a really PAIN especially when there are capacitors around it...

I usually find the cpu/heatsink the most annoying part, that was lovely and easy building an E6600 system earlier in the week. Wiring up the front panel however was unusually annoying, ecpecially as i failed to notice id cut my hand until i noticed blood dripping into the case  .
CPU bit was easy and quick for me, though I was scared I'd break the CPU.

Heatsink with C2D was nice and easy with the click-in kinda system they use.

I had cut myself also, but didn't see any drip in the case!

heatsinks are far easier than the socket A / 370 ones. Front panel connectors are very annoying. Also annyos me when gfx cards block memory slots.

Hmm, in my most recent build the worst bits were installing the PSU (Enermax Galaxy in a V2100+ is surprisingly hard to do), and putting the Noctua heatsink on the CPU, the LGA 775 method is very annoying!

CPU cooler wasn't too bad, although reseating it is a hassle cause mine has a backplate which means I need to take the whole thing apart. Trying to change PSUs is a pain cause my Antec's a bit cramped and the optical drives get in the way.

One thing that's quite bad and I'm surprised nobody mentioned is the RAM: some sticks need quite a bit of force to go in, gets a bit scary when you're starting to bend the mobo...

However, the most annoying thing for me is the little clip in the AGP port... Graphics cards nowadays are so long, and their HSFs so thick, that the only way to unclip that little thing when you want to take one out is to stick a pencil under the card from the side and try and flick it down without being able to see - not THAT hard, but annoying because it's such an idiodic design...
