:eek: I did this too but sadly I did it for real. Cat slipped off the wall in the back garden and I grabbed the remote to show my boyfriend. :rolleyes:
 
I never usually call it anything.

If I'm asking where it is I usually just say "where's the.........." and mime the action of pressing the buttons :o

Occasionally it gets called the "telly thingy".

We call ours the 'buttons', and I'm pleased (although slightly surprised) to see that we're not the only ones who use this name.

We always used to call it the 'Flat Controller'. Because it's flat, and it controls. It was a pun on the 'Fat Controller' from Thomas the Tank Engine, back when we had to endure the programme fairly regularly with my younger brother.

I've never met anyone else who calls it that.
 
Its either called the flicker or the dit dit in my house, no idea why though.

Its amazing how many different names one object can have.
