What do you do with your Old PC Games

I got all my games, never sell any or throw any away to my knowledge. I've spread them across my flat and my dad's garage though. Still got all consoles and games in original boxes, Including my Amiga 600, with all games boxed. The Mega-drive, Master System II, SNES, N64, PS1, all the games. Though i used to only ever have like 8 for each.

What's the point of chucking, unless it's for space (which admittedly im short of). I look at it like a collection, like cars. I can look back on 15 years worth of games and remember how they played. You invest a lot of time in them, you wouldn't chuck away old movies, so why games.

All my games i buy now live in a DVD store box , i never keep the cases, i keep the manulas + keys in a seprate box. & also Steam as had most of my money the past year

I have a box with probally 300 floppy disks with most of which have games on, and I no longer even have a PC with a floppy drive....

I usually ditch the boxes but keep the manuals and disks from Old style big boxes.

I say nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Or...

Sell them on Ebay.

If they don't sell, then Charity Shop.

Although I do often regret selling my old games... and they do only sell for a few quid on Ebay so...

I saw a mint condition, boxed ZX Spectrum with original boxed games, for like £15 on ebay the other day.

You are talking over 20 years old, it's a part of history and to keep something in that condition that long is divine intervention! £15, i spend that in a week at work on sandwiches, whats the point. There's been times where i've needed like £15 just to cover me for bills just before payday, but sod that, i'd face the bank charges (which i do :P)

Personally I think everyone should take their old PC games to their local (or rather, my local) charity shop!

I have recently managaed to get Max Payne, Max Payne 2, Deux Ex and Tron in my local charity shops all for no more than a couple of quid each!!! :o)

Agreed with the charity give - some games from a couple of years ago look dated when you go back to them - IF you ever go back to them.

My son is getting getting into games now (of the Mario/console variety) so I keep an eye out for any old ones in the shops - he loves going retro through the online Nintendo shop (so it might save me a few pennies as well).

I tend to keep only the classics, and the games I've enjoyed the most - if I dont like it, its usually traded in pretty quick - I still have original game manuals and discs for TOAW - which is circa 1998, when I first got a PC!

Must admit I can only go back to certain games, some just look dog rough these days... especially on a decent screen and resolution - must get round to drilling holes for my gaming shelf above where my desk is!

i say keep them - they dont have to take up that much space.

throw away the boxes and manuals, take a marker pen and write the serials on the game CD and then put all your old games on an old CD-R/DVD-R spindle - job done.

I keepo the classics, half life 2 , call of duty or anything with a huge manual (rare these days.
Most new games when completed i sell on apart from EA games which is why I will not be buying any more

ive kept every game, every console ive ever brought, at a rough guess i have around 450 maybe, i still have all the original cover boxes and stuff. i also tend to pickup friends old console+games collections :P

tbh im so glad i have steam now :D even though its beginning to feel like a rip off £39 for farcry 2 wtf. im off 2 tesco for left for dead.

i probably start replaying old games once i get a nettop carmageddon here i come :D.

I actually keep all mine, even if they are unplayable on newer systems.

I always wanted to start seriously collecting every PC game that came out but I never really got around to it. So if you have any one ones that are either really bad or unheard of, instead of chucking them you can send them my way ;)

Only have pc games now, if its old i tend trade them in at a shop that sounds like rumpy pumpy .
If i feel retro, like now, (i just bought Star wars Starfighter for £1.99) then its very cheap to get hold of em again. Of course, with Vista loads of older games simply won't work, so no point in holding on to em.

Few games I've kept (Monkey Island Series, Half Life, Deus Ex), rest are boxed waiting until I can be bothered sticking then on the MM.

I hate belongings, as bizarre as that sounds. I cannot stand having 'stuff' lying around.

I'm a bit of a collector in that i love going through stuff i've stored for years and going "Blimey, i remember this! didn't know i still had it!". Like i keep finding 10 year old football shirts :)
