Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

What do you look for?

Price/performance

Tbh with you mate, I don't really know what all the figures mean and its all nonsense to me :p I would rather see some benchmarks to see how the card performs in comparison with other cards, and then see what I can pick up for the best price. :)

ditto.

i've a friend who currently has an 8800gts (i think) and have compared my new card to his with benches etc yet he still believes his is best cos it has more ram. i've tried explaining that isn't the be all of the card etc so benched DMC4, 3D Mark Vantage and 3D Mark06. his Vantage score was better (by 500) as he uses a quad so i assumed that is why???!!

1. Reviews
2. Price/performance (don't care who makes it as long as i get maximum bang for buck)
3. Power consumption (to a certain extent)

I look to see if NVidia are competitive, if they are I buy them to avoid ATI drivers and general problems often associated with their cards.

If NVidia are not competitive (such as in 9700 Pro era) I will buy the ATI alternative and percevere with the problems, I would rather buy good hardware with poor drivers than vice versa because there's always the chance the drivers will improve.

Whatever performs best in my price bracket, if it's really close, noise is the tie-breaker followed by power consumption.
