What do you put for marital status on a CV if you not married..

It's not relevant to salaries at all, it is only asked for Payroll, which is when the employee has been taken on and offered a salary.

The Revenue like to know this info so it has to be input onto the payroll system.

Never needed this on my payroll system or any document filed to HMRC on the employee's behalf.

'Yea my partner and I...'

Why not say girlfriend/wife/fiance?

Because to not state that does not immediately mean that the candidate is gay. A lot of people consider themselves in a partnership and not a marriage.

I actually don't care that much; I'm married, don't have to be too worried about the Legal do's and dont's, but the opinion offered as fact does bother me for some reason :)

Hey ho. Anyway, have a good day :-)

Sage needs it.

Re the 'partner' issue, I call Phil my partner. I don't like the term 'boyfriend', sounds too temporary and juvenile.

Unless your over 40 putting partner pretty much means your a shirt lifter or rug muncher.

EDIT: Much like Ms, unless your divorced it generally indicates a dyke.
