what would be (generally) the best option in terms of speed / performance?:

4 x 80gb SATA2 in RAID0

or

1 x raptor 74gb

this would be on a gigabyte 965p ds3p board - not sure what sata controlers to use tho...

all looks fairly impressive. literaly double the average transfer speeds and access times arent that much different either. although what i never realised (or bothered thinking about) is the cpu usage with the raid - does that increase with the amount of drives you have in an array? also, is that the difference between a hardware raid and a hyberid / software raid?
