What do you think of Diablo 3?

Have the previous 40 or so posts not told you enough?

There's a huge D3 thread to trawl through if you want to read more.

It doesn't really matter what our opinions are anyway, as you can see, some dislike the game, some love it, only by playing it can you make that decision.

It's not as good as D2 was, but it's still a good game. I play D3 a lot, especially when the new seasons launch or new content gets added.

I would probably play D2 instead if I could cope with the graphics and the fact that it's 800x600. If only they could remake D2 with the D3 engine...

My barb is the only char I created since release and is beyond rubbish compared to other classes of the same level/experience. Highest torment levels I don't do anything. Can't kill anything, can tank but as if that's necessary with DHs and Wizards melting everything that moves in milliseconds.

Really rather boring watching other classes obliterate everything while you just run around superfluously.

Just make a wizzard and face melt man!

Probably my favourite ARPG and I've played a few, although I haven't played Path of Exile which I imagine I would love. I do think the game is almost unrecognisable from it's launch. From Loot 2.0 to ROS and all the 2.x patches Blizzard have done a great job on continually adding content and improvements to the game. I love the mechanics of the combat and skills etc. So finely tuned. Although I had a PC when D2 came out for whatever reason I never got into the game until it was much older so never really got into it the same way I did with D3.

Worth a play through if you enjoy the genre, Seasons make starting a new character not feel like a pain as everyone is same. If your res is 3440x1440 it doesn't have native support, you can get it run with a few tweaks.

Definitely got my moneys worth with it but I can't bring myself to play it now, not even sure the expansion will get me hooked like I was at some points.

Because blizzards platform is good, support is 1000000 times better than steam so why hand over 40% for nothing?

Anyway, enough people have answered, it's good, fun to go back to for seasons lots of build advice sites if you want to read more about different aspects rather than trying it out for yourself.

All classes can be really powerful. Look at the solo leader boards everything is pretty well tied. You just need to use the right build/rolls/skills ect.

Cant wait for next patch to go live.

Path of Exile is far superior IMO but Diablo III is great, if you haven't played it you definitely should and once you've had your fill move to Path of Exile. Having about 2.5-3k hours in Diablo 3 I'm actually amazed how nice it felt to play PoE afterwards. It managed to scratch the Diablo II itch I had that not even Diablo II could (D2 is a bit outdated tbh).

But yeah, D3 is hyper polished as is Blizzard's forte and with Necromancer coming out at a time where a new player will likely be getting bored (assuming they started around now) it's a great time to start, and by the end of the year I can't even imagine where PoE will be, it's receiving 6 new acts soon so it will be even sweeter to switch to.

It's a good time to be a newcomer to the APRG genre. :D
