What do you think of my current computer config? :)

You asked for an opinion, they gave it. There's no point asking for critique and then getting offended when people give it. It's also much easier to give you points to improve on than just throw praise at you.

If they'd seen a photo of your girlfriend next to the monitor, and started saying things about her, that would be crossing the line - but ripping into your cable management is pretty fair game.

I'd say cable management is what does the most damage to your rig - the current "thing to aim for" seems to be tidiness. I'd swap out your two optical drives for one SATA drive, then spend a few hours tidying up the wires inside.

The walls do indeed look untidy - I'd move the 4-way extension down below the desk line. If you then move the two monitors together you can put all their wires through a single tube in the middle of them, making it much less obvious.

I very much like the improvised GPU coolers though - could we get a close up of them?

Didn't mean to hit 'below the belt' or 'cross any lines', just offering you my criticism and advice the way I prefer to - straight to the point. It's only a computer case, a wall and some wiring at the end of the day lol.

If your case doesn't allow for good cable management try looking for a new one. If you're on a budget - I built a system in one of these not long ago, and it was fine:

hey, naa its okay i was just abit like :O at the time

Well ive just had the thing in peices, my main problem is i need some atx extensions for everything to reach tidily really.

i also took the gpu coolers off for now and put the stock coolers back on since its just more cabling inside the tower, at some stage i intend to refine they're design so they work off the graphics card fan power not the 12v rail inside the tower.

Thanks for your opinions anyway, i do appreciate it :)

by the way im thinking of getting a blu-ray sata drive for it, any recommendations?

also i looked at my hdd caddy and it appears to be riveted in plus i dont know if you can see it properly on the photo but its also holding my front memory card reader in aswell as my hdd.

Update: I also removed my 'akasa fan controller' for the big cpu cooler, just plugged it directly into the motherboard connector instead, yay even less cables! :)

Thanks again,
Liam.

going to get a big 1000watt modular psu
Which will only make efficiency suck big time most of the time PC is on. 25W light bulb simply doesn't draw 100W.
Your current components peak at just above 250W. (maybe 300W with FurMark) Replacing those two GPUs with HD5870 wouldn't increase load power consumption really any and idle consumption would actually drop by fair 30W.

Worst case consumption (FurMark+Linpack) for components in PC in my sig is in just above 400W class... in 3DMark highest consumption is about 100W lower.

lol ok then :) here ...

Can't see that clearly, what's the amp for the +12volts? Don't know what the requirement is for your 9600GTs but I'm surprised they're running! How long have you had the PSU?
