Thanks.

If you are spending that much money and want DDR3 then you should be looking at i7 really. No excuse not to with the fantastic offers on DDR3 this week. Works out a bit more expensive due to the cpu, but you can get a motherboard cheaper than the one you have selected. It would be more future proof too.

Avoid the terrible OCZ psu. See why here. Take a look at Zalman, PC Power and Cooling, Enermax and Be Quiet instead.

That cooler is'nt very good either. There are better ones to be had for less than that such as the Thermalright Ultra 120 (need a fan though) and the Tuniq Tower.

What's the main use of the PC? DDR3 isn't worth it unless your on i7, you can get a cheaper DDR2 mobo and ram and still have a pretty decent rig.

Here's and example of an i7 setup for roughly the same budget.

Better CPU, better graphics card and better cooler.

You can't put an i7 CPU in that mobo, it's a completely different socket. You can only choose C2D or C2Q. The i7 CPU's will only work in X58.

The spec I gave you is better anyway and for around the same amount of money. I never noticed the second hard drive, that would put my spec a little higher.

That motherboard won't work with your CPU. You need a 1366 socket motherboard.

For a few quid more, you could get a 1GB 4870.

Also that 700W PSU is overkill, a 520W will suffice.

I would stick with the Antec 1200, I quite like it :D

Also change that CPU cooler, to a Noctua 1366 or a Coolermaster V8

ah right so i need a x58 board for the i7

Yeah, at the moment it's the only type of motherboard that can support the i7, the P55 boards will be out soon.

The one on offer is good for the money, but only has 4 slots for ram, whereas the one in my spec has 6 (means you can use the 6gb tripple channel kit), but does cost a bit more.

right i changed a few things, im quite liking that cooler master case now :P

I was wondering why you kept putting it in when the 4870 isn't much more :p It's looks fine to me. I have to say I do like the HAF case aswell.
