What do you think of this drill?

I probably should have asked before I purchased it. But i just went out and purchased this. Its all they had at robert dyas near work for low price and was not sure what to get.

At this point i just want to install a door lock an internal door and put together a bed (screw driver) as well as potentially drill some holes in my crappy walls (which i don't think are real brick)

I can always take it back. I just paid £60 including a £20 bit set. Should i take it back, have not opened it yet, and what would you suggest for same price? I need the 16mm drill bit.

You're probably pushing it with wood :D You may be able to get through some very thin plywood with that ;) :p :D

Edit: Putting together a bed, screwing you should be alright, drilling holes in walls depends on how old your house is and what the walls are made of.

The Draper Hammer Drill is good, that'll last you a long time. I have an old Bosch one which was lent to me on a perm basis, still working today. And with the corded one you don't loose the old style method of a chuck key :p

Personally I'd go for the corded one if you want punch however if you want flexibility go for the cordless.

Ok thanks for your help. I think ill take it back and get the corded draper one.

Are the drill bits universal? I bought a bosch drill bet set for £20, that should work in any make drill is that correct and is it correct in saying that i will be able to use the corded draper as an electric screw driver as well?

Ok i've changed my mind, i am going to keep this and if i need to drill in to masonry ill get a corded drill. I think this will serve the purpose of what i wanted. Again thanks for help.

Yup drill bits are universal, a hammer drill for screwing in isn't always a good thing unless you can turn the motor down :)
