Ain't the anniversary edition the same thing mate?
The forest are doing them for £139 (includes 3A battery) - model number is: BHP456RFWX

just ordered one lol! Using TCB (5% off forest DIY orders) - that should be only £132 for the anniversary edition

That's a darn good price, it has I believe a different motor, a 4 pole, slightly higher speed1500 rpm, compared to the BHP453SH at 1300rpm.

I'm assuming thats all good yeah? :)

I've been using a crappy orange bosch 14.4v quattro thingy for the past 5 years and the motor burned out last week whilst trying to wall mount me telly lol.

Not very often I buy a drill so thought I'd go for somat decent that will hopefully last me.

Only 14.4 volts.:(

Crap NiCD Battery.

And useless for masonry.

I have a 14.4v Makita and its very powerful. Drill speed is 1700rpm which is faster than some of the cheapo 18v makitas about. As long as you buy a decent make 14.4v should be easily enough for most DIY jobs.

Agreed on the nicad though, awful batteries.

I was refering to the Bosch 14.4v batteries, my Makita combi 14.4v batteries seem far superior, & last longer than a Bosch 14.4v I had.

Might be ok for driving a few screws in, but for drilling brick or any kind of heavy usage? Forget about it.

I've got a couple of Makita drills, an 18v li-on and an 18v nicad. Both are excellent.
Also got a corded SDS off screwfix (titan or something IIRC) which is excellent.

The only cordless drill I would even consider on that site is the Makita 18V. I have one, and despite it 'only' having 1.3Ah NiCad batteries, it's a very good piece of kit. I managed to drive ~500 1.5" screws through chipboard into timber on less than two batteries worth of charge when flooring my loft.

I've done the cheap tools thing, never again. It usually only costs £20-30 more to buy a proper, decent 'pro' tool over a standard 'decent' consumer grade tool if you shop wisely.

Had the same debate, narrowed down to the makita vs hitachi. Went with the hitachi due to having better reviews all round, prob still £100 at screwfix.

This ^ I've currently got 2 of the older nicad versions and their fantastic, 5 years of pretty heavy use and theyve taken everything I've thrown at them, theyve been dropped/knocked and their still going, bought when on offer with Screwfix.
