What do you want from a Clan Website?

As per the title really. What functionality would you really like to see on your clan website?

Working on something as a favour for a friend - it's been a while since I've worked on anything personal/casually so I want to take the opportunity to have some fun implementing some cool features. Once it's finished, I'll probably GPL it, as it seems senseless to put so much effort in for it to only be enjoyed by one person/team.

Out of curiosity, is there much demand for such websites for console clans as there is for PC clans?

standard stuff really like a clan list (if possible drawing from another site for stats like K/D ratio) news, events calendar with place for scoring etc, ease of use,forum integration and easily swappable skins.

Also it must be easy to use and secure but that goes without saying

I'd just recommend ClanBug.com they got a pretty decent system for clans

havnt ever had an issue with xippy sites, they run as required....

They do everything which is needed. My only complaint are the forums but you can easily link to an external one anyway.

Personally I'd always suggest avoiding PHP Nuke, it's very bloated but can be found to be full of security holes, TFU got it right straight of, simple forum thats cleanly built and a clean template job done

well all depends on how much you know about phpnuke, a lot of sites ive been on are very laggy and bloated as you say that use nuke.

our admin knows what hes doing so what isnt needed isnt there and any code not worth a toss is gone.

i guess if you want a simple site then TFU would be great for that, a lot of ppl see these thems etc and want somet abit unique for there squad

Mine is simply a VB forum, though with a completely customized template and some 3D work. Serves its purpose - a bit expensive though!

Make surs that it's up to date and used regularly by members. Nothing worse than going to one and its not been used for a while!
