"What do you want from us" - Answers to this question?

Hi guys,

I'm currently looking for another job and remember being asked this question at the interview for my current job.

I can't for the life of me remember what I said... so what would your answer be, if a prospective employer was to ask you the question...

"What do you want from us?"

or

"What do you want from this job?"

That's what i replied. That way it shows you're motivated and you're not just taking this job for the hell of it - an interest perhaps.

I've tried that before, and I think they got scared as they thought that I only wanted the job as a stepping stone. I didn't get the job. :eek:

A good regular wage and good working conditions?

I was once asked if I saw myself doing this job in 5 years time at an interview, I replied probably not and was told the job was mine because he liked my honest reply.
