The university I work for had a power failure over the weekend. A server room which serves a couple of libraries and some university departments couldn't be bought back online in time for Monday, so after a couple of hours doing nothing, we (in the Finance dept) were all sent home.

If it's a network with one of my servers on then .... don't worry as the server just sits there twiddling its thumbs until the network comes back ... if its the office network, then go home and VPN in (which goes via a gateway on another site).
