I've read stories where TPFT doesn't cover certain things. Is this based on the insurer or is there a standard for all third party cover?

Like is the whole car and everything inside covered from theft?

means that if you hit a car your insurance will fix the other car and NOT yours

the fire bit im unsure of but im assuming it will cover fixing your car in the event of fire damage

theft, pretty self explainatory will cover the value of your car if stolen to be noted is that it will cover the cost of the car not items that were in it at the time and non declared items will not be covered like say after market wheels or headunit and only the base oem part value be given

you also will not be able to drive any other car fully comp lest you do this age restrictions vary between insurers but its usually 25

Isn't it fairly obvious by the description?

Third Party - Other people
Fire - Fire
Theft - Theft

Even on comprehensive cover, contents of the car are rarely insured. E.g. things like Satnav, fancy headunit, or even just things like your Sainsburys shopping.

Generally Audio equipment is covered to, for me it is upto £750 or 15% of cars value which ever is less. I'm with Elephant

Are you implying that the OP asked a blindingly stupid question? :D
Haha ;)

Cheers guys, was simply wondering if the theft part covered anything within the car.
