Yep, it's saying the device produces DC. It's the inverse to the ~ on the other side.

Does it not also tell you the Polarity of the current? I have a "multi voltage plug thing" and you can have it as either positive or negative polarity and I'm sure that symbol tells you which it is... If the 3 pins were at the top it is the reverse polarity
