Can anyone shed some light on what on earth this gismo is for?

It goes in the fuel tank under the pump. Its not clear from the website what its purpose is or how it works.

I read POS exactly the same way. Ive just taken up cardsave for my processing, and whenever they mention POS terminal, POS system etc, I really have to supress a snigger!
