Apologies if this has been posted already, but if you're a Phillip Pullman fan then go along to the official web site and you can find out what your Daemon looks like!

You have to answer 20 questions and it then reveals your Daemon to you. You can then send your answers to your friends and they can comment on whether or not you've answered them accurately. If they see you differently then your Daemon changes shape! Superb! :)

The trailer for the first movie is there also, well worth a watch if you've not already seen it.
 
omg, creepy, my favourite animal that I admire the most is the snow leapord and it came out as my daemon. :cool:

heh, just seen the trailer, remember Philip Pullman saying he didn't want the film made unless he could get Nicole Kidman to play Miss. Coulter

Alas when I emigrated 2 of my boxes containing lots of my precious books went missing, including books 1 and 3 of the His Dark Materials trilogy, which I had yet to read. :(

I've not got around to buying them again yet, I shall have to before the film is released. Currently book 2 is sat on my book shelf looking lonely.

mine is called Xanthia or Kanthia, the first one is a cool name but it just came out basically a black cat, are they all cats or somethin?

I cant wait for these films, I mght have to read the books again now they are so awesome, I cant see it being as good as the LOTR films though, just from that trailer it seems to have veered from the book already, are they only making 2 or 3? They cant compress into one without doing the books justice.

They are making all three films.

In what way has the trailer veered from The Northern Lights? It hasn't so far, at least not from what I can see.

Also, the shape of the Daemon is influenced by your personality, there are many different forms ;)

Just from the picture the bears look gay, the armour should not be intricate and gold - they're not elves ><

Have you even read the trilogy? :rolleyes:

If you had then you'd know the bear with the intricate gold armour is Ifor Rankinson, a false King who likes adornments and craves a Daemon of his own. In that still, Lyra is stood next to him pretending to be one. When you see Iorek Brynnsson the rightful King you'll see a difference in their armour.

To a bear, their armour is their soul, much like a Daemon is in Lyra's world.
