Whilst there is a lot of good things about the 360 and PS3 there's still so many things wrong with the current gen.
For me it has to be the focus around achievements/trophies. It adds nothing to the games you're playing and, in fact, only serves as an indicator of how much time someone spends playing games. This is not a good thing for the masses..but good for the developers and they exploit it to the point that it affects the way in which you play and enjoy a game. Just think how (some) of you now play games - not as and when for a bit of fun, but by being drawn back in to 200 objects in a game, kill 2000 people online or (argh) host a 1000 online games. It's insane.
I also don't like the fact that developers worry more about graphics than gameplay and spend more money on the promotion of games (making it out to be more than it is) than anything else. You see a game, looks great and has so much potential to be amazing and yet when you get it, pop it in and start playing...blah, same ol', same ol'.
I guess this could lead on to asking what you want from the next generation? What's missing now that could be implemented in the next round?
