What DPI do you use.

2200 on a Razer Lancehead at 1440p.

Means I only need a 20 cm wide mouse mat for full range of motion with loads of space to spare, with Windows mouse smoothing turned off.

2000 on a G502 lightspeed, usually have it very low in game settings (around 5%) and adjust between presets on the fly: 400 (snipe button), 800, 2000, 2800, 3600 depending what I'm doing in game (usually 2k or below)

I change it from game to game, i set up 7 presets from between 800 and about 2500 if i remember and I mess about in game with them until i find the setting that feels right. On Halo I like it quite high

As a side note, Optimum did a great video highlighting the current state of makers and gamers "wanting" higher polling rate, even though even under controlled conditions, the benefits are so small that you'd never notice them in practice. So the gist is to stick to 1000-2000Hz and set your DPI/CPI accordingly. So my age old 1000Hz @ 1000CPI a year before I even saw this video was bang on the money (I'm on a 175Hz display at 144Hz for ref). And those differences are measured on a 540Hz display in the video below, so lower refresh displays will see an even lower difference.

What this made clear is that comfort, battery life and other features trump polling rate. Like some mice had awful bulky dongles that need to be connected via a flying cable on the desk as they're too big to plug into a USB port on the mobo or back of your monitor - That would be a massive issue for me and these are the kind of dongles you get with Razer/WLmouse etc. Whereas my XM2we has a tiny little 1000Hz dongle that sites happily in any USB port.

I even ordered then cancelled the new Turtlebeach Burst Air II and the new Razer V3 Pro after realising that I'd not really be gaining anything by changing to those mice from the XM2we lol.

I've since ordered a set of grip tapes pre-cut for the XM2 to enhance the feel and add protection from the plastic getting shiny over time as I really do like this mouse, it's light and super responsive and the battery lasts weeks before needing a charge so can't sniff at that.

For me I reckon the dream ratio will be a 1000Hz monitor, 1000Hz polling rate, 1000CPI/DPI resolution. That's not that far off really given we now have 480Hz OLEDs :D
