Right i have a problem.

I have these earphones atm ,

But they annoy the hell out of me, i use them a lot but they are just too annoying and big to put in pockets etc

So i want some new ones, yet I am not too fond of In Ear ones, but i know these offer great quality.

So what would you recommend ? In Ears?

I use the in-ear Icemat Siberia ones for out of the house, I wasnt normally a fan of in ears but after a day or two of moderate use they were brilliant :)
Note that these are in the style where one of them goes around the back of your neck so it is out of the way from your front.

Sony MDR-EX 90LP. Moderately expensive for in-ear headphones but worth it. Sound quality is great.

Make sure you don't buy crappy Chinese copies though :)

I have a set of those SONY ones.

They're they only ones that will fit my ears, but the quality is awful.

I'm yet to match the earphones that came with my Creative Zen Micro for sound quality.

Get some Creative EP630s off well known auction site- £8.50 for 2 pairs and they are honestly disturbingly good considering that price. I just ordered another 4 pairs earlier today. Not to say they don't last a long time, I've had 3 so far over the past 3 years with MEGA heavy use, I use them in my phone, my MP3 player, my computer etc. - the only reason they die is because I end up pulling the cable too hard and they get a loose connection.

I was really upset when I lost a sponge from my Creative phones, they didn't fit well, but without the sponge there is no hope at all. Quality was sublime, erganomics were poor (for my ears).

Although those sony ones were ***** quality, the ergonomics are good, cable never tangles, and they don't fall out of my sub-average ears.

Earphones are very subjective - some people like the in-ears, some don't, then there's the shape and responsiveness of your ear... it gets complicated.

Currently I use Mylarone Crossroad X3 (a supplier called Jaben) shipped from Singapore - very high quality and great sound for only £34 or so ($57 USD).

Failing that, my previous pair of Sennheiser CX300 were really good (aka the Creative EP630) - like others said avoid the ebay fakes. The only problem was if you brushed the cable (for example, it rubs against your shirt when you are walking around) - you'd get a heavy rustling / booming sound transferred into your ears - not nice.

Arg, I love earbuds, use nothing else so I've had so much experience of this happening :( They fit my ears perfectly too, so even more reason for me to use them. The good thing about getting them so cheap is that so what if you lose the sponge, you've got another pair on the side :D (or in my case another 3 pairs :p).

That said it's awesome when you lose one of the sponges and find it 3 months later living at the bottom of your bag :)

And to be honest, considering how cheap the fakes are they aren't that bad at all - it's a terrible feeling when those £20 headphones go missing or break, but when they cost £4 a pop it's hard to care so much. You can treat them as badly as you want and it just doesn't matter.

Sennheiser CX300

Edit: Not fake ones

These, got them to replace my Sony ones that got tangled in my bikes cogs. They sound much better and don't get tangled up as much. Think mine were about £20 from ebay, hope they're not fake, is there any way to tell?

Think I heard something about the cable length a while back.

think i'll get myself a pair of cx400's £20 is cheap as chips for decent earphones :)

my sony ex71's are falling to bits now (had them about 4 years, and i really don't take any care of them)
