I've become obsessed with a new treat: ginger nut biscuits and cheap dark/plain chocolate. Most supermarket own brand "dark" chocolate is not that dark, it's just not milky like milk chocolate. Like a decent plain chocolate.

The ginger in the biscuits makes the chocolate seem creamier and sweeter, and the sugar in the chocolate makes the spicy ginger cut through beautifully. I take one square of chocolate and one biscuit, and eat them in 3 nibbles. It seems like a good way to pace myself but I can demolish two rows of chocolate and 6 biscuits like this :o

So what's your weird combo?

oh boy that sounds nice.

May have to supplement my lidl shop this morning :D
Ooooh is it like a fancy Jaffa Cake? That would be amazing!

A fancy jaffa cake is a great way to describe it!

Pain au chocolat chocolate tends to be quite dark and marmalade tends to have a nice bit of tanginess, so it's a winning combo

I'm with you on dark chocolate and ginger nuts.

A weird combo that was recommended to me by a mate and which I now love is a bacon sandwich with lime pickle. Sharwoods (it's more like a chutney) is best as some other brands are too greasy. The sharp spicy flavours of the pickle complement the saltiness of the bacon sandwich superbly.

boiled egg on toast with a bit of marmalade

chocolate thins (same shape as pringles) combined with...pringles

honourable mentions from a time gone by...

terrys chocolate orange bar with regal kingsize chaser

asda low fat sausages with raspberry jam

Chocolate and crisps. Not something I consume everyday - usually around Xmas! Chocolate followed by Salt and Vinegar crisps or similar, lovely!

The bacon and lime, will have to give it a go!

@builder22 I don't have a sweet tooth at all, yet totally get what you say, chocolate followed by cigarette. Same with a beer, coffee.

We had bought a caesar salad bag but forgot to buy chicken. Remembered we had left over cumberland sausage so used that instead. Now it is a fixture for weekend lunches.
