My system is overclocked so on that point I posted here in the overclocking cooling forum, maybe there is a better place for this if there is would a 'Mod' move this thread please.

This only applies to Vista users ;)

Right click >my computer >properties then click windows experience index to test your system and post your score.

My score is 5.7, spec in signature + Nvidia 7900GT 512MB Graphics.

Vista has plenty of headroom for overclocked cpu's would like to see what it makes of the oc'ed quad cores that some members are using now :)

5.7. everything on my pc is 5.9 except my c2d which is obviously 5.7 (as its the lowest scoring component that gives you your index base score)

oh its running at 3.15ghz btw

I have a bone to pick with the Experience Index scoring!
When I first installed Vista HP 64 my lowest score was 5.4 for my memory, which was 2 x 1GB of OcUK Value CAS5 PC6400.
Fair enough, but I've since replaced that RAM with 4 x 1GB of Geil Ultra CAS4 PC6400, refreshed the Index score and come out with 5.4 again!?

*scratches head*

(Yes, I did remember to manually set the timings to 4-4-4-12 in the BIOS)

that is odd....my pc5300 scores 5.9:p

My pc sucks.

Im getting 5.9 in vista ultimate for everything BUT the Hard drive which gives me a score of 5.5 dragging my whole pc down :(

Processor: 5.1
Memory: 5.6
Graphics: 5.9
Gaming: 5.4
Hard Disk: 5.5

:(

Looking at other peoples results though, how can peoples 6400 conroe's @ 3.2ghz score 5.9, then other peoples 6600's @ 3.2ghz only get 5.7 ?!

4GB in Vista is slower than 2GB according to Windows Experience Index, so machines with 4GB only score 5.2-5.4 whereas 2Gb of almost anything gives 5.9.
