What firewire lead?

Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place or not - but if it's not, feel free to move it.

Bit of a problem. I have footage on a miniDV tape, a JVC digital camera (model: GR-D23EK) and I need to get the footage onto the computer for editing.

Unfortunately the person who is lending me the camera either misplaced the firewire lead or didn't buy the camera with it ( although I was pretty sure they came standard ) and I'm stuck with no means of transferring the footage.

I had a quick look about the Internet and I found that there are a few different types of lead available for this purpose (or so it seems).

The thing is, I have to go out and buy the lead tomorrow and can't afford to buy it online as I simply don't have time.

So what is (or should be) the correct lead to use?

The one that makes the most sense (by looks) is a 4-6 Firewire cable but I just wanted to get further confirmation.

Thanks. Apologies for such a long post on something so simple.

Slogan.

i would say any wire that says this

JVC GR-D23EK Mini DV Digital Camcorder
DV Output (i.LINK, IEEE1394 compliant)

i googled lots, but cant link them as they are all competitors.

the one you mention is on a website stating this....

4-6 Firewire cable
Type: IEEE 1394 cable.

So logical and personally i would say yes.
