You'll definitely need the proper drivers...not installing the VIA chipset\graphics drivers leaves your system prone to crashes and poor performance.

Possibly, but it lags on a Geforce 2, so I'm not sure the VIA chip will handle it, even at 640x480..

Yeah, updated to the 04/08/07 drivers.
Driver version 6.14.10.364

And still no joy on the openGL front.

I got Homeworld installed.

Loves D3D, but has no love for the openGL option.
