i'm looking to buy a Headset for gaming, and to possibly replace my speakers in the future.

because of this, i would ideally need something with a decent mic (not too important though) and excellent sound output quality.
being comfortable to wear over long periods would also be a major plus.

my budget is £50, but i could stretch to £60

Headies have a tendency to break unless you're very gentle so investing that much may not be wise if you're the sort that throws 'em around. I know I am and look how mine have all turned out.

^ ther's a moral to that story then, " be more carefull" i have had 2 top of the line headsets and both have never broken, i'm currently using Steelsound 5h with my XF-i Fatal1ty and the sound quality is amazing! I know for a fact that the steelsounds offer intense sound, i chose them over my Sennheiser pc155's

1) i'm gentle with all my hardware. i'm not really the sort to chuck it around.

2) thankyou to the kind Mod/Don who moved this to the right place.

3) any suggestions? preferably stuff from OcUK. with links. links are good.

I have the Medusa 5.1 (non usb) which I have had for a good couple of years now. I try not to throw them around but, well these things happen, yet they are still going strong. The 5.1 obviously isn't as good as a properly placed speaker setup, but then it doesn't annoy the other half anywhere near as much :) I couldn't go back to using stereo headphones after using these...

edit: I don't have speakers anymore.

Dont get the Plantronics GameCom|Pro 1 USB's...they didnt work for me. None of the drivers helped or anything. And their support site is useless aswell.

Seconded. I've got them as well and I like them. I haven't had them for that long but they don't look or feel like they're going to break any time soon. The 5.1 is pretty good from them, and sound quality is certainly good enough for gaming.

I have just got the Beyerdynamics DT 770 Pro/80ohms and an X-Fi.
All I will say is "Amazing".
5.1 on headphones does not go - I have some also and the monitor headphones are infinitely superior.
Just my opinion you may or may not agree try it and see.
