Ok, so I'm sure most peoples response to this will undoubtedly be Coffee.... Or Tea... But I'm curious really.

If you have a particularly hard day/high work load etc.... what is it (dietary, emotional or otherwise) that gets you through the day?

Personally I tend to drink about 2L of squash and half a pint of milk each day. However I've just realised, having spent most of today so far working hard on an essay, that I've been up about 6 hours, and already demolished 3L of squash.... I'd personally put mine now a days (diet changed a couple of weeks ago), to a solid breakfast, a good nights sleep the day before, a high level of hydration, and a relatively high quantity slow release carb lunch alongside a proper banana milkshake.

Loving my job. When it's tough, it just gives me plenty of opportunity to excel and show how much better I am than my colleagues. So in that regard, I guess my own towering superiority gets me through a rough day.

Knowing the consequences of losing my job/not having it. Nothing else really. A lot of determination and fortitude.

That said, I've gone down to part-time now, so hopefully my extra days off will make the time in bearable.

Can anyone recommend what to have when you're tired? I feel like I have no energy when I'm at work and need some boost of some sort.

Not many options mate, caffeine is your best bet (or more sleep), I drink a bottle of cheap redbull substitute everyday at work. usually kick from tescos

I work in a small team of four people including myself, only ever 3 of us in at the same time. The people I work with are all brilliant so that helps a lot. I keep myself hydrated drinking 3 litres of water when in work. Have a few cups of coffee each day as well. Eating well is one crucial one for me as well, if I've not eaten enough or not for a while then I notice that I can get quite moody, can't concentrate as much and become tired. As little as 5 minutes after eating I notice a huge differance to the amount and quality of work I do.

Still looking for another job though as I want something that pays more and is more interesting as well as giving me a bigger work load. As strange as that may sound I don't like being at work with nothing to do and clock watching.

If your tired at work you need to ask yourself why. Tiredness (at work at least) is something that can be avoided if you have bad habits.

You need to make sure:
You sleep enough hours and sleep well too.
Eat often and good quality food.
Wake up earlier maybe as well so that your fully awake when at work rather than still waking up when you get there.

I honestly used to have real issues with feeling tired. When do you get tired? Morning or Afternoon? Bananas seem to be working wonders, and the other thing is make sure you get solid amount of sleep

depends on what shift i'm doing

if its a 16hr+ it'll be a diet of redbull and painkillers

Funnily enough work gets me through my working day.
I absolutely hate having nothing to do but luckily over the last 3.5 years I have too much so the hours go by.

I go to the gym 4 days a week during my lunch hr and the other day i have a nap in my car :D Always refreshed for the afternoon.

I get plenty of sleep at least 6 hours, I think it may be the food bit but I feel like I'm suffering from fatigue which is weird. I may need to do more exercise as I really don't do any tbh.
