What gets you through a working day?

i like my job, its easy and on most days it is enjoyable and time flies by.. however lately i have been having those days where i dont know wtf i am doing and it seems to be dull, boring, exhausting due to somethings i am experiencing/going through...

Most of the time I have the opposite problem and want extra hours in the day. Although, I have had some bad jobs in the past where it was just watching the clock.

Not many options mate, caffeine is your best bet (or more sleep), I drink a bottle of cheap redbull substitute everyday at work. usually kick from tescos

Do you actually find that helps?
For a while I was on a bottle of kick a day at school but was constantly tired.
Stopped drinking it and after a while I was fine.

At work I've learnt that if I don't want to be tired I have to go to bed at a reasonable time (10PM for me, I will normally read for at least an hour after that though).

I love these sort of days and crack on with the work at hand. It's the average days that are dull. :)

Hah, I'm the exact opposite. I think I actually work slower when I have a really big workload. I'm not going to finish it anyway so there's no point rushing. I do really hate my job though.
I like having nothing to do because then I can get out Mr Sheen and polish everything on my desk until I can slide my calculator from one end to the other.

I work in a small team of four people including myself, only ever 3 of us in at the same time. The people I work with are all brilliant so that helps a lot. I keep myself hydrated drinking 3 litres of water when in work. Have a few cups of coffee each day as well. Eating well is one crucial one for me as well, if I've not eaten enough or not for a while then I notice that I can get quite moody, can't concentrate as much and become tired. As little as 5 minutes after eating I notice a huge differance to the amount and quality of work I do.

Still looking for another job though as I want something that pays more and is more interesting as well as giving me a bigger work load. As strange as that may sound I don't like being at work with nothing to do and clock watching.

You sound almost exactly like me! No doubt it's the (mostly) fab people I work with that get me through the day. I'm very much of the idea that if I have to work, I might as well make the best of it and try and make it enjoyable.

At work I normally listen to Radio 1 all day and drink lots of tea. I pretty much hate my job but try find something even small I can try enjoy to get me through. I also have a can of coke right near the end of the shift just for that little extra boost when things are getting tough and to have a bit of energy for my drive home.

Music really listen to it for about 4 hours a day whilst delivering.
Then the thought of month long holiday in January, eyes on the prize!

Being able to go to the gym for a couple of hours during the working day - excluding lunch/normal break times too - normally helps me. Can't really ask for more than that!

Having an OcUK tab open all day also helps :D
