Looking for a GFX to go with an AMD64 3500+ and 1GB Ram that will play WoW nicely. Its just for WoW\Expansion so the cheaper the better really, but with nice performance too.

Cheers

Would really prefer something AMD as its going into a Shuttle with an ATI Radeon Express 200 chipset, and apparently they don't like Nvidia's much.

Would a PowerColor ATI Radeon X800 GTO 256MB GDDR3 allow WoW to perform well?

Yeah, is that still at £58 on OcUK?

Damn, you missed the special offer... :(

I'll still probably get one at that price, not played WoW since July last year and getting the eurge! Unless someone else can recommend another card.

The X800GTO16 was at £82 on offer, not sure what the regular price is...

Just installing it now to see how it runs on the ATI Express 200 - if its bad i'll most likely go with that.

As I said, it runs on a GMA900, so I would imagine it would be more than ok with the Xpress 200 (which is basically an X300SE welded to the motherboard).

My test Pc has the Express 200 chip and it runs WoW ok with low settings but not great. The Geforce 6600GT on my server is better (and actually runs wow pretty well with medium settings gets about 35-40FPS in most areas). The X800GTO should run it fine.

play it when needed with my laptop and its ati 200m not too bad, having 1gb ram helps a lot, have to run it with the details turned right down, but runs fine at 1280x900 here.

lol should have seen the missus face when i brought the laptop on holiday with me so i could get my wow fix while she sunned herself by the pool.

:D gotta be done

I can confirm that the GTO16 plays it as smooth as a babys bum with everything on max @ 1360 * 768

me = happy :)
