I have been asked by my brother to upgrade his graphics card

He bought a dell about a year and a half ago however it is fitted with a geforce 7300 which he has found to be struggling on most new games. i need to find a card for him and a PSU to go with it. The problem lies in the fact i feel him buying a high end card may be pointless as his other hardware may limit him.

im not 100% on his specs im going from memory but his PC has

some form of 2ghz dual core
2gb DDR2 (800mhz i think)
300w PSU
some form of dell motherboard
his monitor is 1680x1050

he has no interest in overclocking or any other upgrades just a GPU and ofcourse a corresponding PSU all of which i'll have to install lol.

any help would be appreciated on this

You know that Dell psu's are non-standard, right?

Maybe an 8800GT would be OK with that psu...

i have no idea about dell psu's tho i recently pulled mine out and replaced it with an antec one, i know i'll have to replace the PSU thats no problem, just want to know how far up the range of cards i can go before the processor and ram begin to restrict it.
