Hi:)

I'm thinking of getting a new GPU. I currently have 2 7900 GTX's in SLi and i want to upgrade to a single, more powerful card.

I have a 19 inch LCD monitor, and I game at 1280 x 1024. I regularly play COD4, Crysis, NFS series, and Oblivion. I was gonna buy an 8800 GTX, but then I started to do some research, and discovered that at the res I game at an 8800 GT was more or less on par with the GTX.

And now OCUK are offering the GTS really cheap as well....

What card do you think i should get?????

GT??

Thanks

This has been asked like a million times since OCUK slashed their price on GFX, use the search function you will find many similar questions.
In short GT, if you have the cash GTS, no need for GTX.

since you're looking for a new card, it's not such a great idea to go for the older GTSes (the 320 / 640 mb variants).

get a 512mb GT, or a 512mb GTS if you can afford it

Will you upgrade your screen in the foreseeable future?. If yes and it's going to be 20"/22" @ 1680x1050 then the GTS 512mb version would be best. 24" @1920x1200+ the 8800GTX would be my choice but if you are going to stay at 1280x1024 on your current screen for a while then the 8800GT 512mb will be perfect.
