Thought it might be a good snapshot, to see what GPUs people are using for their PCVR gaming, given PCVRs fairly high end demands.

Please post your GPU, your headset, and if you like, how you perceive performance and quality to be in the games you play.

I'm on a 3070 and Quest 2. Mainly use it for flight sim now and it's decent on mostly medium settings but there is certainly a lot of quality improvement left on the table and it can be a little jerky still especially when flying lower. Still a great experience though. On driving Sims it gets better framerates.

4790K, 3070 and Q2, I don't play AAA stuff so everything works without cranking the settings down, apart from the steam home room which I have on medium.

i7 12700K , 2070 Super, Quest2

half life alyx, which runs ok surprisingly
DCS - settings quite low, but does play
Project Cars 2 - again settings reduced, but does the job

Played lots of other PCVR games, and they tend to run ok. Surprised the 2070S hold up quite well.

However I am looking to upgrade and currently looking for someone to convince me I don't need a 4090. (I can afford it, but £1600 on a grfxs card just makes me pause!)

7600 with a 3090 here
using a pico 4
i run via virtual desktop and I'm 2 settings below Godlike setting
i can run it 1 setting below rather well, but i checked the latency and its a little high for my liking, so use medium to get maximum performance at the best possible quality

Is the CPU that important for VR. I only play ZZZ titles, so the gameplay isn't taxing and they still look very nice with a 3070. Obvs in AAA pancake gaming it's CPU bound.

7800X3D & 4090 with a Vive Pro 2 (2448 x 2448 pixels per display)

The 4090 was necessary to get 90fps in graphically demanding (or poorly optimised) PCVR games I'm pleased with the results its still much better than the PSVR2 but the expense was very high to realise that high resolution.
