What graphics card to upgrade to?

I currently have a Q6600 2.6ghz overclocked to 3.06ghz and a 4870 gfx card.

The processor is surely fine, but I want to upgrade the Graphics card and be able to get good 1080p performance on new games. Suggestions?

BTW when it comes to spaces and slots I got the machine from here, it was a Titan Accelerator I think it was called. Case is a antec 300 I think.

4870(if 1gb model) should be able to handle almost all new games in 1080p.

Isn't your 4870 good enough for 1080p gaming?

I thought these cards were supposed to be pretty good?

What about an nVidia GTX295, or ATI HD4870X2, or 2 x HD4890's???

whats better a 4870x2 or a 4890?

I havent really stressed the card out yet but It doesnt run the resi evil 5 demo that well at all and i was going to put this card into my dads and use the new one in mine

4870x2 is a lot better than 4890. But the 4870 should handle most things at 1080p. If its just one game that youre having trouble with (like RE5 benchmark) then its probably the software not the hardware thats the problem

just leave it till the DX11 cards come out
