what gym shall i join

Surely you mean 'which'? 0.o

This isn't a spelling test, jesus christ. Nothing to add to the thread then what's the point?

Try Virgin Active, yes they are busy at peak times (as you'd expect), but my local one all of the staff are friendly, and there is a huge range of equipment. This is from experience however, the people/equipment may well range between individual club.

£48 a month for me.

Just a small note. The Gym Group gyms are only any good if you never intend on using heavier than 30kg dumbbells. It got frustrating for me in the end so I went elsewhere. Pure Gym seems (if your after a cheap (<£20) 24h gym like The Gym Group) to got up to 40kg though.

no trolling at all, i want a gym where there are no coloured people and no white people who have undergone the phenomenon which simon schama described on nesnight, whereby white people who have become black due to the yardie influence. This is seen a lot in gyms where man power is a manifestation of the no brain all body gangsta. Visit your local gym and see.

You couldn't be more far from the truth. . When you become so concerned about what is around you then you start to detract from your workout.

If you are so concerned honestly do not leave your house .It is safer to be inside a gym with these so called yardies then to walk the street, as if you look to scrutinise behaviour the majority of "violence" happens in groups. I have never received any aggro from anyone in the gym, there is a mutual understanding that we are both trying to attain goals and there is formed a mutual respect. The only people who stick it out are those who imo value life and health more then the norm and would not risk doing anything stupid to ruin it. I doubt this is just the nature of my gym.

Headphones in and I'm in my own little bubble. I can understand you may have personal preferences, that's fine. However if simple things like this concern you it is very easy to become distracted and loose believe and resolve to keep returning to the gym. Its kind of like the kid who wont play football in the rain and albeit is a bit stubborn. in the end the only one loosing out is yourself.

If any bad behaviour is going to take place i can see it happening in these "fitness gyms". I would just visit the gyms nearby and do a workout at your particular time to assess the environment if it of that much concern
