Basically, I was wondering what happens if I get some mayhems (Aurora clear, blue or red probably) and my block/res/etc. has a problem with it?
I'm not entirely sure what the problem is, but from what I gather it's the loop getting clogged up.
The quesiton is, how easy would it be to unclogg?
Thanks from a WC noob

I expect your best option is to take apart the blocks and pumps to clear them out, The radiator would be best flushed with hot water and add some white vinegar to it to help clean it.

I see... wondering about getting mayhems at all, my computer lives under my desk for the forseeable future, unless I get a big enough desk to put it on top, and generally thinking about getting clear fluid (don't worry if I sound like a complete n00b, cleeecooo is going to be doing the actual LQ for me xD)

Cleecoo knows his stuff and everything I've seen him write I agree with. I would just use either X2 or the pastel colours as they don't really have any risks associated with clogging.

I think I'll get clear fluid as I'm not decided on weather I should replace my Red LEDs with blue ones either
Thanks

Aurora is only for demonstrations/shows/modding. You don't sound like a likely candidate for this so bog standard deionised would probably be best for you.

I have a proposition.
I bet I could do a better job of lc your comp than that crappy cyber company did. If I can, you buy me mobo blocks of my choice, if I can't, I buy you an aquaero of your choice. OcUK decides :p

Up for it?

:D

X2 isn't out yet :p

Or distilled water and clear tubing and then change the coolant later if I really want to?

If you do decide to change the fluid... you're on your own ;):p

To answer the original question, the pearls just drop out and you're pretty much left with X1.

Why not pastel?

Also, keep the red as it'll look stupid having a red fan at the front with blue LED's incide. Red pastel maybe?

NO. I'll probably get my own aquaero just to annoy you xD

Aurora is very easy to clean out. A lot of people complicate the cleaning process which is not needed and im sure Cleeecooo with back me up on this.

Cleaning aurora out is a simple process of flushing you system properly.

The easy way of doing this is quite simple.

Tools for the job

1 Ltr Jug
Hose pipe (make sure it is not frozen over in this weather)
1 Ltr of Di water
Some extra biocide

Stages of cleaning

1) Find a point in your system were you can either empty out your coolant or water. The simplest method is to unplug at the reservoir or the radiator. If you have a tube reservoir this becomes really easy if you have a Bay reservoir its a little harder but still possible.

2) Now empty your Fluid into you 1 Ltr jug. If you took more than 1 Ltr to fill you system make sure you have a second 1 Ltr just near by.

3) Once you have got as much out of you system then you need to connect up you house pipe to the point were you pulled off the tubing. E.g to the reservoir or the radiator. Now the exit point will be the pipe that you disconnected and will be left hanging.

4) Now make sure you PC is near a sink or a drain. Slowly turn on you mains tap that the hose pipe is connected to. Do not put it full on else you will put you water cooling system under to much pressure and either blow the tubing off or crack a reservoir.

5) At this point fresh drinking water will now be going though you system and coming out of the tube you have left. this will pick up all the much and will flush out your system.

6) Run this for about 10 min if your trying to remove aurora. When you have finished flushing the system out. Turn off the mains tap and "BLOW" down the hose pipe to get as much of the tap water out of the system.

7) Once you ready and have most of the tap water out of your system. reconnect up the system so you once again have a loop. Put in Di water and If you have any biocide Sitting near by add about 1ml to the loop. This is quite a lot of Biocide but it will act as a Nuke to any bacteria that is in you system. Now run the system (unplugged and only the pump running) for about 1/2 an hour.

8) Once done again empty the system out and you are now ready to put in your new coolant / water.

Extra Notes

If you have been running dyes you can add in some bleach to your system only add a few drops (no more than 1ml). Do this at stage 7. Then give you system a extra clean rinse afterwards with more DI water to remove the bleach.

-=-=-=-

Your system should now be fully clear and ready to go. You should really do this at least 1 time a year. If using Pastel you can re use the fluid again but it best to get a coffee filter and run the fluid though a coffee filter. If it was Aurora when you use a coffee filter all the Silver / Gold will be caught by the coffee filter and you will be left with double strength X1.

Yeah, I agree with Mick.

While it is easy, it just takes a lot of time an it's not worth the effort just to change the colour :p

also running your loop backwards helps clean out any stuff thats got stuck in a position where the only way out is the way it came in

I have just removed my aurora and replaced it with pastel

the aurora effect doesnt last all that long, after a few days theres no real difference to pastel to aurora

only way to get the aurora effect back is to shake your system around or turn your pump to its highest setting for a bit to un-stuck the bits

what is X2 ?
