What happens if you go overdraft with Barclays?

If it has an overdraft limit then you won't be charged anything other than the interest. Does no one know their accounts t&c's these days?
Hooray for multiple student overdrafts though, free money to put into bonds.
Assuming you have the 'safety bit' (check the online bank account it will show how much) attached you might still get charged 20 quid, well I did for going £2 over! (didn't bother arguing over it because by the time I add up the cost of getting it sorted, parking & petrol etc, it nearly costs half that again).
Barclays used to have a 'cushion' of £5-10 but this changed a short while back and they can literally print money if you go past you overdraft now.

Be careful with Barclays - about a year ago they opted everyone into a new scheme where you will get charged 8 quid instantly.
The old way was you could go overdrawn (without an overdraft) for 48 hours without being fined - after that it was fair game.
If you haven't been overdrawn in the last 12 months they will, out of the graciousness of their hearts, write you a letter saying that as you have been in good standing for the past 12 months they will let you off.
Failing all that you will get a 30 quid charge somewhere along the line.
I think Barclays is a thieving bunch of so and sos and thats just my opinion (and now looking to shift banks as I am chuffed off with them, I have a couple of good stories about them and their cockups )

Ideally you should avoid using an overdraft at all costs, unless you have an interest free overdraft, going overdrawn usually comes with a hefty 30% APR so interest is quiet high.
Just don't go to Lloyds TSB - biggest bunch of ****-up artists around. I don't think I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with a company with such little communication.
