What happens if your parents die and they have no will?

It's actually not offspring first:

Legal Husband/Wife (married/civil partnership)
Children
Siblings

This really only changes if the deceased has legally named someone else as NOK or Executor

Also if no living relatives are found within a certain period of time then all the money goes into the back pockets of Cameron and co.

What's that period of time? I've seen trashy daytime TV shows about people that search for relations and stuff with a view to giving them cash from a dead person.
