Specs =

MSI GX660
OCZ Vertex 2 60GB as boot drive
Windows 7 64-bit

Problem =

Everything suddenly freezes, no keyboard, no mouse, no blue screen. Only way is to hold down power button to switch off and then on again.

-----------

What could be the problem? At times this has happened when only firefox is running. But if it's a software or driver issue won't I get a blue screen?
I have tried latest Intel RST and also tried older versions of RST. Was on SSD firmware 1.23, now on 1.33 and problem is still here
Please help me find solution :(

Ask on the OCZ forum, they will be able to help more than we can. It'll probably need RMAing and they will sort that out for you through the forum (usually quicker than a normal RMA).

However, two things to ask:

- Are you sure it's the SSD and not an unstable overclock or something? If the HDD activity LED on your case lit after it freezes it's probably the SSD.
- Have you tried leaving it for a few minutes after it freezes? Sometimes it's only a temporary freeze that lasts 1-2 minutes. Obviously this doesn't help the problem but it could mean an issue or incompatibility with your SATA controller or drivers, rather than a dying drive.

Thanks for the reply. I'll also try at the OCZ forum

I'm not overclocking anything. The HDD isn't lit either.
I've tried leaving it for up to half an hour and nothing changes
