Hi,

I know what I want, but it doesn't seem to exist, I don't want to go crazy on price but will consider up to £500 if it ticks all the boxes, I'm after -

27" Minimum
Freesync up to 144hz
1440P minimum
TN so I don't have to worry about backlight bleed, I mostly play on line shooters anyway

Most of all I don't want to play the lottery, if I was after a Gsync monitor the Dell would be the obvious choice.

Shall I wait to see what comes out or does something exist that I wont have to send back ten times until I get decent one?

I'm not a fan of the BenQ that's available BTW, don't like the way it looks with that weird remote thing and prefer plug and play rather than spending an eternity trying to configure it and wondering if its got the right firmware

Thanks

The BenQ would be the obvious choice and a very good screen. You don't have to plug the remote in at all if you don't want it. What's the concern about worrying about firmware revisions as well? Not sure I follow that....

I've read the whole BenQ thread it was a bit long and I skim read a lot but I got the impression it was one to avoid loads of people have had problems and needed to send it back, some needed to send theirs back for Firmware upgrades?

That was corrected a long time ago. Get it from a retailer like OcUK who shift a fair bit of stock and that won't be a problem. And if you're going to be looking at any monitor I'm afraid you'll find some people reporting problems. And those who are, they're far more vocal than those who have no issues. The BenQ is a good monitor and has what you want.

MG278Q Mate?....have you had a nosy

Really wary of Asus monitors and receiving a dud, as you can tell I'm fussy but also don't see why these companies should get away with shipping sub standard QC at this kind of money so I refuse to buy one. Spec wise its perfect but I'm not risking it, don't have the time to mess about shipping them back and forth

If it drops to the original price I think I'm going to take a punt on it, I'm not paying its current price.

Whats the Freesync range on the above Asus and the BenQ?

Thanks

40 - 144Hz on the hardware side, plus there is now LFC to help out a bit if frame rates do drop below 40fps. Then again, if your frame rates are that low things are not going to feel or look fluid anyway.

I'm in a similar place with monitor selection, only I want eyefinity so I really, really don't want to mess this upgrade up. I've considered the asus that have been mentioned and a hate that bloody company.

It'll be running off a 290X so should be ok

Thanks, I'll keep my eye on the BenQ price, definitely not risking the Asus
