What have I done ?

Regarding connections all of you hdmi kit would connect to the amp via hdmi then a single hdmi out to the tv. With regards to anything using scart you would connect your scart direct to tv as you have now, and then either use an analog phono cable or digital coax/optical cable from the box to the amp. You'll need to mute the volume on the tv in most instances though to avoid echo.

The VM box doesnt have a seperate audio out in any form. The only way I can think of setting this up is to use the TVs headphone socket to connect to an input on the amp - this seems stupid though

You can get scart leads that incorporate separate RCA connectors to divert the Audio to an amp.

So scart to scart but has 2 RCA cables coming off of it too.

Out of curiosity (slight thread de-rail), how do you guys hide the wires for your surround sound? Do you use some cable trunk or something else?

My current set up the rears are hidden down the end of the carpet, the fronts and sub are on a big ish low unit so wires are hidden behind that, sort of..

If your TV is compatible, it can feed the audio back to the receiver by the HDMI cable. Does require a few options to be turned on, but that would probably be the solution in this case.

All mine are platered into the walls. Before we redecorated, using a combination of chasing and where possible, dragging up the dry lining, all of my cables were run down the walls, behind the skirting and connected to faceplate mounted binding posts. It took a whole day to do, but SWMBO is very happy (and so am I).

Well i have now got confirmation, my set will be here on friday :)
Paid £228 with delivery, not bad at all.
