I've got about 60hrs in gliders, and its an awesome experience! marcus said everything above really, just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Ditto, although i've only done about 40 hours. Flew solo for about 10 of them . Its one of the best experiences to be up in the air all by yourself with no one to help you if it all goes wrong

i was thinking of gliding with some buddies down south that week but the met-office has a warning for very high wind speeds in the Basingstoke, Winchester area.

Don't crash into my gaff - I live about 5 minutes from the gliding centre there, (Lasham).

ok, a mate of mine went gliding a couple of weeks ago. i got an email of said mate today, asking if i wanted to go on the 31st ( £40 for an evening "glide" )

i am scared of heights, and have never been in a plane.

lol yea first solo is pretty nerve racking!! I've got about 15hrs solo in gliders, also have about 120hrs powered, am in the middle of my commercial training, CPL test in about a month

What have you let yourself in for? why worry about it, it'll probably kick ass and you gotta try everything in life atleast once
