Pretty much talked myself into purchasing this:

With possibly more ram to boost it up to 8gb on Vista 64bit. Alongside this will be a xfx hd4870, probably a Xonar D2 7.1, being run on an Enermax Galaxy 850w PSU.

As this is an upgrade of my current comp, which has a couple of IDE 500gb hd's inside, I am umming and ahing over what HD's to get. Disk space is not a huge issue as I have a 500gb NAS, as well as two laptops with around 250gb free HD space on.

The comp itself will mainly be used for gaming, generally WOW with the occasional rpg/fps, depends what comes out, on one screen, with a second screen for music/web browsing, with the occasional movie being played through it.

I've looked at SSD's and don't really think they are for me at the moment. Id like the comp to be quick, but I don't need it to be that quick, im just not that bothered, and for the prices I can't justify it. Originally I was looking at a pair of Samsung F1 320gb's in Raid-1, but now i'm not sure if thats the best route to go, would I be better off just getting a decently fast single drive 500gb(or smaller) and not worry about raid-1?

Do you want redundancy? Raid 1 won't add anything to speed, but protects you if a drive fails. Personally I would get a Samsung F1 and backup to the NAS box.
