what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

Yeah I looked at ACS years ago and noticed they used the audiologists in Boots. As I'm near London I have a few choices but Harley Street Hearing or whatever it's called seem to pop up a lot so I might as well go there one work day when I'm on lunch or something.

I can definitely thumbs up the guy in Harley street. He did my impressions for £25 as they were for iems and not hearing ais - that's half price :)

Dr Patel I think it was

What ohmage? :)

I'm ordering up a pair of Beyer DT770/80s.

At the moment I'm using the Shure SRH840:

Incredible detail and clarity, but they're just not 'fun' enough for gaming.

I have the 250 ohm & run them through an old denon amp, although they're ok through the MP3/phone etc.

i have some razor chacaris obviously not up to the standards of some of the beasts on here but high and mid range are really clear and sound lovely the low end bass wise isnt the best but there is certainly some ommph there

Should have a pair of AKG K340 electrostatic headphones in my hands soon. I've wanted to try them for a while, so look forward to giving them a blast.

Cool, got an electrostatic amp ready for them? Just watch out you don't love them too much, otherwise you'll start looking at Stax headphones and getting crazy ideas!

Nope, no dedicated electrostatic amp needed for these. They can either be run from a headphone amp (albeit a beefy one), or via a modded speaker amplifier via the speaker outputs. I doubt I'll bother using a speaker amp as I have two reasonably capable desktop headphone amps at my disposal (a Shanling PH100 and a modified Xiang Sheng 708B).

The K340s aren't strictly electrostatic - they use a dynamic driver for the low freq. stuff. The HF stuff is dealt with by the electrostatic transducer.

Fostex t50rp are my prefered headphones, they do voices beautifully.

With my hard to impress attitude they are the only cans that melt in the background because you are more engulfed by the sound.

Sony MDR-V6
Denon D1001

I find the sony's get more use because I tend to use my headphones in noisier environments and they seal much better. I love them both though
