what headphones do you own thread - i own dt150's :)

Needed some replacement earpads for the original Sennheiser Momentum over ear headphones. Annoyingly Sennheiser no longer make them so I have been searching for some third party ones but there is very little choice.

I initially ordered some Geekria ones off Amazon but they sound completely different with a much softer sound and a distinct lack of bass compared to the originals. I also ordered some Soulwit ones and although feeling a bit ripped off (£25) they sound loads better. Arguably better than the originals I have (albeit those are quite old).

It's tempting to stock up on a few pairs of replacement pads and cables for all my older headphones given it seems to be getting increasingly harder to get original ones these days.

Hyper x Cloud 2 for gaming - had a couple of pairs of these now

Anker Space One wireless headphones for daily use at work etc... which I like a lot for the price

And I got some knock-off Samsung air pods free with my phone last week, need to see if I can get a few quid for those

Arctis Nova 7s as I still love the chat/game mix, but the software often drives me insane with how often it forgets switching to the headphones when turned on, despite setting it explicitly in there, and they will frequently auto-switch off when I'm in the middle of talking. It's like that setting has absolutely zero sense of when the headphones are in use vs idle. My pair of regular Arctis 7s did it too. The thing I can't deny is how comfortable they are to sit for long hours with.

Have had an itch to upgrade them / just try something else, but they still do everything I need in one tidy-ish package. Open to recommendations though.

Not headphones, but with me due to getting a new phone for Christmas which doesn't come with a 3.5mm adapter, I've been looking at wireless earbuds.

After some research settled on the QCY MeloBuds Pro which seemed to get really good reviews for the price and were the pick of the QCY range.

just picked up some Hifiman Edition XS direct from China. got stung by customs, but still cheaper than buying in England.
have had to order a comfort strap, as the phones are ridiculously over sized.

that's a common problem with the XS, why they didn't just use the Arya headband assembly for the XS and the Ananda is beyond me. The Aryas are just as big but fit perfectly because of the suspension strap and proper swivel.

I have Arctis Nova 7's, Arctis 7 Wireless and Hyper X Cloud 2's - the battery was playing up on the original Arctis 7 wireless set and I hated the micro USB charging of them. Use the Hyper X Cloud 2's on my laptop with jack only, not the USB adapter. The Arctis 7 Nova's have been great in fairness although I do use Spatial Sound Card software with them and leave the native SS equalizer on flat.

I just picked up the limited edition KOSS PortaPro in retro beige as had strong nostalgia. I recall them sounding amazing back in the early 2000s when I bought the original black version but man oh man have the planars spoiled the ears. The PortaPro soundstage, stereo imaging and general musicality is excellent, much bigger sound than the size would suggest, but the high frequency just can't extract the kind of resolution that I'm used to now.

I was intending to use them when i didn't fancy putting on big planars and just wanted super lightweight and comfortable on ears, but the missing highs means I will just keep them boxed until they are no longer available and sling them on ebay for a tidy profit. Got the Yaxi pads with them too and I really like the hard shell case and soft pounch the Portas come with, nice touch for sure for a customer picked colourway limited run.

I had a hearing test today at the audiologist as suspected light form tinnitus which has recently become noticeable but only because of external; conditions and now it's back down to ambient. It has not affected my hearing one bit though and is simply a high frequency sound like a CRT TV is on in the room at all times!

Interesting that it went away the moment I was locked in the sound proof listening room, and with their Sennheiser HD25 pro-styled headphones, things were even more isolated to the point the only thing I could hear was my own pulse when they were on and the clamp force the headband applied to my ears

At age 40 the reuls are good and at elast I know my hearing is still good enough to continue being an audio nerd

Still awaiting delivery of my QCY Melobud Pros. Was supposed to be guaranteed delivery for the 17th which has been and gone. At least they now look to be in the country based on the tracking.

Been offered a generous £1 coupon code as a good will gesture for the delay. Geez thanks...

Paging Mr @mrk , Santa blessed me with Fiio FT1’s and Crinacle Truthear Zero Reds. Also some monies for a new DAC/Amp.

Are you still happy with your Fiio K11 R2R? I want to replace my old clunky Drop THX 789 and separate DAC with one smaller desktop item. I am thinking of the K11, the ifi Zen Can 3, or at a stretch the SMSL Raw-DAC (although a little more).

Apart from these two new headphones I also have PC38X, AKG 7XX, and Senn 58X Jubilee. Any advice appreciated from anyone appreciated. Thanks.
