What household Items can I use to remove old thermal paste?

ok as the title says, what can I use? I dont have alcohol in my house, but stuff like deodorants which I do have, have some alcohol, so any one know what I can use?

Methylated spirits is easy to get hold of (if you don't have any in the garage) - if you can't get Isopropyl alcohol from your chemist.

Is it better to use a glasses cleaner?

Use a tissue/Lemon juice/Jif first to wipe it clean & then buff it up with the Glasses cleaner cloth.

i just use some 40% alhocol

go to your chemist and ask for the proper stuff (Isopropyl alchohol) - costs nothing for a huge bottle.

Or get the akasa cleaner off here for few quid, will last you several years.

Always used switch cleaner. Get it from high street/mail order stores that don't sell maps. Its like 3.99 for a can and mine has lasted about 10 years.
