What i hate about L4D

I know what you mean. The game can actually be very boring when you play
a bunch of 'pros' who never split up etc its almost impossible as infected.

The game is only fun when it doesn't get all tactical.
 
yeah, i had a few verses expriances, were people kept getting mollyies SOMEHOW, i don't play verses anymore cos of it I will just say no.

than I was playing coop and my PC kept losing frame rates or I lagged and shot someone and someone raged at me(not my fault) than I lost I said for very nasty words than left the game :mad:
 
Feel free to join the ocuk l4d group and make use of the ocuk servers (sv_search_key ocuk in lobby) Most of the exploits have been blocked off using promod on them. ocuk 4+5 are set up as public games at the moment, but I usually keep an eye on them, so if I'm on your friends list, let me know and any abusive players can be kicked/banned. The other servers are private for members of ocuk, although a small group of decent guys I know from another group sometimes pop on the 8v8 server.

Generally, use the Official L4D thread in this forum to get to know the ocuk l4d community and join our games. I warn you that the standard is usually higher than pub games, but we don't judge you on it unless you keep doing really thick things, don't listen to advice and generally behave like a ****. Generally, we often have some good laughs, even if Kearney is on our team :p

(P.s. last time someone tried to kick me from a pub game it was on ocuk4...nice one!)
 
I must admit french people irritate me online for some reason, every game which has the misfortune of generic "European" servers always seems to be completely full of french people. Thank god wow had it's own french servers.

And L4D is ****e unless played with mates... I have no idea why you would even bother unless playing with people you know.. where is the fun in that?? Jeez id rather play HLDM.

Infact anyoen that plays L4d seriously (proper clan) i think missed the point....
 
Haz, thats what you get when joining public games. When you join a public lobby and 4 of the players have already picked sides, you know you're in for a pub stomping session and you should leave asap. All the ocuk games i've been in are all random selection of teams, and i've been in over 600 ocuk vs games now. In fact, don't join any public games at all is my advice because it will just infuriate you and make you resent this great game. Public games absolutley suck! Yeah *some* of them are o/k but 8/10 times it leads in dissapointment with ragequits, rambo's, lamers, greifers and pub stompers.

Add some names to you friends list, and only play with us lot.

I've had one campaign on no mercy me and a friend and 2 russians, they were playing as if we weren't there. Then on the last level waiting for the chopper they jumped on a roof where zombies couldn't get them and let us try and surviveon our own just watching us, i asked them to help both said NO!! We didnt make it and nor did they, when it was time to get in the chopper there were to many bosses and zombies, they didn't make two steps lol.
 
One of the nice things about playing this in Australia is that you only ever get put on Australian servers - everyone is really chatty too. I would like to play on the OcUK servers but I reckon my ping would be silly!

add a load of us from the 'ocuk l4d names' thread

or just look at my friends list, then add anyone with [OcUK] in their name :p



i tend to just play on 18 player servers if I'm not playing with ocukers, as there's too many idiots out there

As already mentioned - join the OcUK lot. There are several games every night and the games are always a good crack.

I can't see how anyone can stick this game out doing pub games. I'd have quit after a week if that was my only option for a game. Links done loads of stuff to balance the game out too - no extra medkits and blocking off exploit areas being the best of those things.
 
Do you guys play anything other than Vs though?

Really want to try some campaigns on expert mode and see if i can get the achievements.
 
I haven't played the versus mode for ages. I don't like the whole childish nature of noob calling to the other team. With the whole respawn time the infected has they just spam the chat, where as you, the survivors are constantly battling and don't have a chance to defend yourselves.

Most of the time I think it's luck of the draw with what types of players you get. I played 'No Mercy' yesterday as a campaign and I spawned with a level 1 and 50% health, obviously the previous player died and quit.

Anyway two of these guys completely sucked. They kept running off. I spawned in the game at the petrol station. There's like 5 standing around it so someone blows it up instead of waiting for the horde. Also inside the warehouse the tank spawns and one gets pinned down so I melee him to take his attention and I run out of the building out of the window back into the station area.

Other guy gets picked up and I walk up to the door and mic'ed over 'can someone please let me in'. They all faff off and I have to go the long way round and don't catch up with them until the sewers. Anyway cutting a very bad game short one of these players shoots a petrol can and the other two get incapacitated and quits, there other two then die in the finale by the tank throwing them off the roof at different times.

Worst game ever!

Think i may have a contender for this as well. Last night i was with a group of friends vs randoms. Finale of No mercy sees us getting 2 people out of the place in the helicopter, then their round begins so in order not to lose the game they build a barricade in front of the safe room door using different objects. Had to wait about 30 minutes before they got bored enough to come out.

It was very tempting to quit but they were extremely loud mouthed so we all wanted to kill them.
 
Is there any way of setting up a 1 player in Vs mode with the rest of the players as bots? I need to just have a practise as a special infected because every time i play i just get killed before doing any damage. The survivors just spot me straight away and then I'm dead and my team are calling me a retard lol.
