What inflation device is in your boot?

do you do a lot of track days or something?
no, but my rims leak a bit and i let them down a bit for a weekend drive and pump them up more for them extra mpg's on the motorway :) had a 2 MICHELIN ones and a halfords one break on me. This RAC one i have now is rock solid.

Yer nothing too, don't even have a spare. Have some out of date compressed gunk thing which is going nowhere near my car.

I'll just ring recovery then tyres on the drive.

I bought a double barrel one from Halfords. Not sure of the brand. It's had quite a bit of use and it seems fine. Even the gauge seems reasonably accurate.

Slime liquid and compressor

The slime stuff is washable so if you get a puncture and it's in a repairable state the liquid should wash off

Really? Phone breaks? No signal? Bad weather hindering recovery?

It's got to be worth peace of mind you can get back on the road if needed.

Ive used a pump before to pump up a tyre which is slowly deflating, so I can creep home.

Nothing, why would I carry a pump around?

Exactly lol.

If it's some slow deflation, you wouldn't suddenly go from not needing air in your tyre to imminently needing air in your tyre. Unless you think a £15 pump is an excuse to not get your dodgy tyres replaced, why not just pull up to a KwikFit instead?

Do people just randomly park up in the middle of their journey to top up their dodgy tyres?

If my tyre explodes on the M40 or something the last thing on my mind would be a tyre pump lmao.

If a tyre has gone that flat that it can't be driven on, a pump will do zilch.

It's easier to carry a pump than it is to regularly check the pressure of the space saver if you regularily carry stuff in the boot.

It's also easier to have your own pump for routine pressure checks, or if you need to change them for fully loaded.

If you're going to have a pump it may as well be in the car rather than cluttering up the house/garage.

I have what seems to be the ubiquitous Halfords double barrel pump in the garage. But I don't carry it with me. I have a spare wheel in each car. But in all honesty last time I needed to remove a wheel in my garage it took a breaker bar the size of the county to undo the nuts last put on by the garage. So I'm not expecting to be able to remove the wheel in a hurry.

So RAC will be my friend instead :)
